Haven't been here for a while. Busy with work, adjusting to BEING at work,.....and just 'stuff'.

So.... what's happening? Anything?

Awww sorry to hear that 'work sucks'. I'm really liking my new workplace. The people are really friendly and incredibly supportive. Haven't done much 'real' work yet but I'm just starting to do so. Working for a 'not for profit' agency is VERY different to working for one that is only in it for the profit. People actually care O_O

Iv'e never been in a workplace like that, what does it feel like to be surrounded by people who actually smile?

You serious????

I've always worked in places where people smile. They've also cried, got angry, etc. But there have been lighter moments and good social times as well.

The difference in this job is that it's a not-for-profit agency so the whole focus is different. It's about what government funding we can secure and how we can best use that to help our participants. They are also really big on work /life balance. So much so that I was encouraged to take "birthday leave" (this coming Tuesday) despite only having been there for 3 weeks!

It's important to like your job. Esp if you are going to be there 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. Is there anything else you could do? I know it must be hard living where you do.. but.. is there anything else?

Yup, early starts and long hours tend to play on peoples nerves, and it doesn't take much for tempers to get the best of some people.
Plus, we have some real shitstirrers who seem to have nothing better to do than to stir as much crap as possible.

Sounds like pure misery. I've been in that situation a few times but thankfully it never lasted.

No other jobs around?

Yeah, i just got asked to put my name forward for another job, but that's only because my supervisior doesn't want this other person to get it.
Just using me to suit herself, no chance that i'll get it, but it's just like lotto, you buy a ticket knowing that you don't have a shitshow of winning, but you know that you have to be in to win.
