![]() Rugby League Ireland has launched its new Community Membership Scheme. This new scheme is designed to work with all clubs, organisations and teams which operate within or have links to Rugby League Ireland. With over two thirds of all gross income being paid directly to the organisation which recruited the member it is hugely beneficial to all organisations. The remaining income will be used for a monthly prize draw as well as contributing to RLI´s centrally ran programmes. Whereas membership does not qualify the member voting rights within the organisational structure of RLI it will qualify the member for an array of discounts at both RLI events in Ireland and abroad and will also enter the member into a monthly prize draw where the prizes will range from hard cash to Irish & Super League memorabilia, big match tickets and Rugby League experiences. It is hoped that the wider Rugby League community will embrace this initiative and help to assist with the ongoing expansion and development of the game on the Island of Ireland and will build on the successful appointment of three members of staff in September 2009. Ireland have long standing links as well as deep rooted affiliations going back many years these can be seen across the community game in the UK with a huge amount of clubs having strong Irish connections and foundations. In Australia a similar connection exists with an Irish influence prevalent in the makeup of Rugby League communities and clubs in New South Wales and Queensland. The scheme costs just €5 per month in Ireland or £5 per month in the UK. The first prize draw took place on the 26th February 2010 and the last Friday of every month subsequently, the prize pool will be updated on www.rli.ie at the beginning of each Calendar month. Forms can be found at www.rli.ie and posted to RLI's head office in Dublin using the contact details on the form. http://www.rlef.eu.com/news.php?id=1306 |
