The Australian Rugby League has finally thrown its support behind an independent commission after agreeing on a model for the new body. The ARL’s decision paves the way for New Limited (publisher of The Australian) and the ARL to hand over ownership of the game to the 16 clubs. Although the constitution of the new body is yet to be finalised, an independent commission is expected to be in place by the end of this season. It is understood the new model will allow the Queensland and NSW Rugby Leagues to have veto rights over any future changes to the constitution. The bodies will also have a share in the game alongside the 16 clubs. [rainbow]Link[/rainbow]
