Robins Head Coach Justin Morgan admitted defeat was hard to swallow after seeing his side throw away a commanding position against the Wildcats...

After going in at the half-time interval with an 18-6 advantage courtesy of a fourth try in two games for Liam Colbon and further scores for Jake Webster and Scott Murrell, Rovers never got going in the second forty minutes and Wakefield took full advantage to claim a 31-16 win.

A disappointed Morgan said after the game: "It was Jekkyl and Hyde. In the first half we worked really hard to get in front. We grafted, showed some good patience and in the second half we were the complete opposite."

"We didn't work hard, didn't show any patience and we lost our line speed defensively."

"We went out in the second half in the driving seat and didn't do anything that we had been doing."

"We gave them a leg up in the game and you've got to give credit where credit's due. At 18-6 down Wakefield still had the belief to come back and showed some great spirit."

"Our discipline at times was poor and timely errors cost us. Across the board I think too many people weren't at their best today and when that happens it's very difficult for your team to be near its best."

The Wildcats started the second stanza with Danny Brough in the sin bin but gained valuable momentum in this period that ultimately laid the foundations for the victory.

Rovers' inability to make the most of their first half lead was a major frustration for the Australian.

"The twelve man factor wasn't really the theme of our half-time," revealed Morgan.

"The theme was about what we intended going out and doing and how to do that. We were poor in our execution and I think everyone needs to hang their head down today."

"It's very disappointing to put yourself in that position and come up well and truly short."

"What makes it harder to swallow is that we were very much in the driving seat."

"The concerns for me were the way we didn't get on the front foot when we had the chance to in the second half. That's what we'll be working on."

Rovers will be looking to bounce back at the Champions as they head to Headingley Carnegie next Friday to take on Leeds Rhinos.
