![]() Warrington Wolves 33 Bradford Bulls 8 For the second week in succession Warrington found themselves trailing the opposition before blitzing them with a feast of unanswered points to remain joint top of Super League. Five second half tries including three in six minutes crushed the Bulls and leading his troops from the front line without a breather all night was skipper Adrian Morley. Matt King continued his run of scintillating form by scoring two tries and making another to earn the plaudits of his growing army of crowned "subjects" on the terraces and Sky Television while Ryan Atkins, also a scorer of two touchdowns, was named the sponsors' man of the match. Wolves started without Lee Briers again and also Richie Mathers but welcomed back Richie Myler while the visitors lacked Jamie Langley. Bradford should have taken the lead when Warrington were penalised for lying on but Matt Orford's kick from close range hit the post. Thankfully, Ben Harrison won the scramble for the loose ball. Orford was looking dangerous in open play with his kicking and it was he who put up an "up and under" that Chris Riley couldn't field after slipping on the turf and Andy Lynch forced his way over, receiving the nod from video ref Phil Bentham. Orford then failed with his second kick. Warrington were the better side but could not convert their superiority into points until just after half an hour when Morley made one of his many devastating midfield breaks to feed Mickey Higham who sent Richie Myler racing to the posts. Bridge added the goal. Either side of that score Bridge and Atkins had each knocked on when a score looked possible. Three minutes from half time the speedy Paul Sykes went over on his back but managed to get the touch down. He took over the goal kicking role but he too was unsuccessful from a relatively easy position. Warrington finished the half in determined mood with a great run from Riley and a neat kick through by Atkins and it was the latter who would eventually break the deadlock after 52 minutes, crossing in the corner after the ball had travelled through four pairs of hands. Ten minutes later the irrepressible King raced over and in the very next move the same player started a run 10 metres from his own line and fooled the backtracking defence three times before sending Atkins over from 40 metres. Bridge's goal made it 20-8 and the game looked safe. It was made even safer less than four minutes later when Michael Monaghan sold a splendid dummy 20 metres out and raced over near the posts and Bridge tacked on another conversion. Monaghan then made doubly sure of the points with a drop goal six minutes from time but there was still more to come from the now rampant Warrington attack. Bridge offloaded brilliantly in the tackle to Monaghan whose kick was fielded by that man King leaping high into the air. His touchdown was given the benefit of the doubt and Bridge's goal made it 33-8. Bulls' new stars Orford and Brett Kearney along with danger men like Lynch and Menzies had been completely overwhelmed.
