Posted March 15, 2010 14:00:00 The Bulldogs will lose enforcer Michael Ennis for a week after the NRL judiciary charged him with a grade two careless high tackle in Canterbury's loss to the Knights on Saturday. Since Ennis has committed a similar offence in the last two years, an early guilty plea would still not be enough to avoid a one-game suspension. Warriors back James Maloney and Gold Coast reserve prop Bodene Thompson can both escape suspension with an early plea. Both men were charged with grade one dangerous contact with the kicker when their teams squared off at Skilled Park on Sunday afternoon. Link |

![]() Guilty plea ... Michael Ennis (File photo) (Getty Images: Mark Nolan) Canterbury hooker Michael Ennis will miss Friday night's clash with St George Illawarra after entering an early guilty plea to a grade two careless high tackle charge. Ennis had been cited for his high shot on Newcastle's Matt Hilder during the Knights' 20-16 win over the Bulldogs at the Olympic stadium last Saturday night. The Warriors' James Maloney and Gold Coast's Bodene Thompson have escaped suspension after pleading guilty to grade one charges of dangerous contact with a kicker. Meanwhile, three Manly players have been charged with high tackles, but Wests Tigers winger Beau Ryan could serve a longer suspension than any of them after being booked for a "crusher" tackle in last night's 26-22 win over the Sea Eagles at the Sydney Football Stadium. The NRL match review committee has handed Ryan a grade three dangerous contact charge for a 65th-minute tackle on Sea Eagles winger Michael Robertson. He will be suspended for three weeks if he pleads guilty and four if he unsuccessfully defends the charge at the judiciary. The Sea Eagles' George Rose will miss only a week if he pleads guilty and two if he unsuccessfully defends his charge, while team-mates Brent Kite and Kieran Foran will avoid suspension. - AAP Click HERE to register |
