Administrator Posts: 5,737 Group: Admins Member #1 Joined: May 22, 2009	Sportal Struggling Cronulla will be without ex-representative centre Ben Pomeroy for up to a month after he was ordered to undergo surgery to repair a nasty hand injury. Pomeroy will have an operation on the little finger of his left hand after slicing it open late last year. The injury worsened after he re-opened the wound in the first-round loss to Melbourne, with 40 stitches needed to repair the gash since it first developed. Pomeroy admitted his form had suffered as a result of the injury. "I guess I wasn't doing myself any favours on the field - I haven't been playing well," he said on Wednesday. "'Stick' (coach Ricky Stuart) basically told me to have surgery to get it fixed as soon as possible." "I'm spewing that I've got to miss a few games or so, but what can you do?" "I've been playing with it since Round 1 and getting stitches every week so I guess something had to be done." Cronulla assistant coach Shane Flanagan added: "The size of the cut has increased quite a lot since Round 1." "Each game it just splits a little bit further and now it's basically down both sides of the finger and it doesn't look pretty."
