Castleford Tigers grabbed a 34-18 success over Catalans Dragons at Murrayfield on the second day of Super League's Magic Weekend on Sunday.

The clash got off to an explosive start as Terry Matterson's Tigers opened the scoring inside eight minutes.

Michael Wainwright was the first to go over and Ryan McGoldrick was soon at it as they opened up a 10-0 lead.

The Dragons hit back through Frederic Vaccari and Oliver Elima to force their way into the fixture but Brent Sherwin was the next to cross for Cas as they went in at the interval 16-10 to the good.

James Evans extended the Yorkshire side's lead before Gregory Mounis and Jean Phillippe Baile offered hope to the French side.

However, McGoldrick and Sherwin touched down again to seal the points.

Wigan Warriors comfortably beat Huddersfield Giants 28-10 after a fine second-half performance.

Nathan Brown's Giants opened the scoring on 13 minutes through Lee Gilmour but Wigan were back in it thanks to Darrell Goulding.

A tight opening period ended all-square at 4-4 but Michael Maguire earned his corn at the break as his side came out flying.

Sam Tomkins, Karl Pryce, George Carmont and Thomas Leuluai all crossed in succession as a return to the top of the Super League summit loomed.

The towering Eorl Crabtree finally got Huddersfield's second half going as he scored inside the final ten minutes to bring some respectability to the scoreline.
