Warriors sign four but want more for 2011

The Warriors have secured four signatures this month and they are still on the hunt for more before the 2011 NRL season.

Off contract Parramatta utility Feleti Mateo and outside back Krisnan Inu have signed on for the next three years. Micheal Luck has re-signed for the next two years and they have also snapped up Steve Rapira from North Queensland.

Warriors CEO Wayne Scurrah says they still have plenty of room under the salary cap for more purchases and he believes the Warriors are heading back to the good old days of 2002 by signing the likes of Mateo. He says when they made the grand final that year they had ball playing back rowers like the 104 kilogram Tongan.

"Mateo offers plenty of excitement with his ability to turn and win games with his ball playing ability. He also offers versatility with the number of positions he can play."

Reports out of Sydney suggest the Warriors were offering Mateo around the four hundred thousand dollar a year mark, but Scurrah is unwilling to reveal any figure.

"It's a competitive market and we paid the right sort of money for them."

The signings have been made after the Warriors decided not to wait and see which Melbourne Storm stars were released for 2011 with Scurrah saying they could not afford to risk putting all their eggs in one basket.
