Utility back Patrick Ah Van is expected to join Bulls after New Zealand Warriors today released him from his contract a year early.

The 22-year-old Junior Kiwi mainly plays on the wing but can also operate at centre or full back.

Warriors chief executive Wayne Scurrah said: "He had an opportunity to take up a contract with Bradford in the Super League and asked for a release."

Ah Van has not been a first choice in Auckland and made just one NRL appearance this season.
