Wigan Set To Receive Shield

Wigan Warriors will be presented with the League Leaders' Shield after the game with Bradford on Friday, by which time winger Pat Richards could have become Super League's record points scorer.

The Australia-born Ireland international tops all three scoring charts and needs 15 points to beat the record of 388 in a regular season set by former Wigan captain Andrew Farrell in 2001.

Richards, who has kicked 133 goals, is two tries ahead of his nearest rival, Warrington winger Chris Riley, and needs one more to break Kris Radlinski's club Super League record of 27, also set nine years ago.

Bradford forward Steve Menzies has returned from a trip Down Under, following the birth of his child, to play what is expected to be his last match for the club.

The game will also be the last as temporary head coach for Lee St Hilaire, who is hoping his side can follow up their first win in 13 matches against Wakefield a fortnight ago by spoiling Wigan's party.

"We just want to try and finish the season on a high and try and play well," he said.

"We know Wigan have won the Shield but we can't be too focused on them. What they do on the day is up to them, we will just go out try to play well and enjoy ourselves."
