Greg Prichard Beset by injuries and suspensions, the Sea Eagles sank deeper into the mire yesterday, entering early guilty pleas for their three players charged as a result of Sunday's game against the Bulldogs. Centre Steve Matai (grade-three reckless high tackle) is the worst hit, being suspended for seven games. Prop Jason King (grade-one careless high tackle) is out for one match, while lock Chris Bailey avoided suspension. Manly already had lock Glenn Stewart out suspended. Players suffering injuries include centres Jamie Lyon and Ben Farrar, second-rowers Joe Galuvao and Anthony Watmough, and hooker Matt Ballin. Most are likely to play, but Kieran Foran (shoulder) is rated as no chance. The Dragons have recalled five players rested on Sunday: captain Ben Hornby, Jamie Soward, Dean Young, Jeremy Smith and Trent Merrin. www.smh.com.au Have your say, click here to register |
