Source: www.eatsleepsport.com Jamie Peacock has called for a reduction in the number of the teams competing in Super League in order to make it a fairer competition. The England captain also feels it would be a good idea to create two divisions of ten teams to make the competition tighter and improve the quality of the matches. He said: "I still think that 14 teams in a league are too many. I think two divisions of ten would be ideal for the competition." However, Peacock believes that any expansion should be put on hold until there are a number of Championship clubs strong enough to compete in the top flight, following last season's Crusaders' debacle. "It's not a fly by night thing though; these things can take 20-30 years. We don't need a repeat of the Celtic Crusaders; look how spectacularly they failed," he added. |
